Dear Parents and Guardians,

High Expectations!

In our latest assembly we talked about our school values, summed up as REACHES:

  • Respect
  • Establish lifelong learning
  • Active problem solving and critical thinking
  • Creative expression
  • Health and wellness
  • Effective communication
  • Strong global and local participation

We believe that our students are future leaders and so we have the highest expectations of them.

In terms of appearance, we want them to show Respect for the School self-respect and by wearing their uniform proudly and properly. It is no longer acceptable for T shirts to be visible beneath their shirts. If sweaters or cardigans are worn they should be plain. After the holiday in October only plain, navy blue cardigans or sweaters will be allowed.

The students’ safety is the most important part of Health and Wellness. We are therefore introducing a ten minute home room period at the start of every day, from 8:30-8:40am. Period 1 will run from 8:40-9:15am.  This will ensure that the attendance register can be taken accurately and efficiently to help in the event of an emergency. It also means that home room teachers will touch base with their classes every day, improving their ability to care for and support their students. The home room teacher is the person students and parents should go to first in the event of a problem.

Yours sincerely,
Anna Prieto, Director
