Dear Parents

Happy New Year!

I hope that you have had an enjoyable holiday with your children and that you are looking forward to the New Year with the same enthusiasm as us at MIS.

We are delighted to announce some staffing changes at the start of this New Year.

First of all, we are pleased to tell you that Mr. David Tansey has been appointed as the Academic Director of the School. We are grateful to David for acting as Interim Director since October and we are sure that you will join us in congratulating him on his substantive appointment and wishing him well in the role.

Dr. Jerome Coss arrives to teach science in Y9 and Physics in Year 10. This will be a great relief to students and their parents, and also to the Science team who have been filling the gap with dedication for some time.

In English, Ms. Brenda Jackson replaces Mr. Rick Saint who has been appointed the Principal of a school in Cambodia. Mr. Brooks Tait replaces Ms. Suzannah Morgan in EAL.

The arrival of Mr. Justin Nadir to replace Ms. Leigh Key in History enables us to make some changes to the way Social Studies, Health and Travel and Tourism are taught too.

Mr. Nelson will replace Mr. Alessandro in PE, joining us on 23rd of January.

In Primary, Mr. John Gammons will replace Mr. Jet in Year 1.

I am sure you will welcome these new teachers with your usual warmth and support.

Calendar amendments

Please note that the training day when school will be closed for students has been moved from Friday 3 February to Friday 10 February. Reports for Q3 will be issued on 23 March rather than 17 March.

Yours sincerely

Dr Kyaw Soe

School Coordinator
